About Us
Crusoe Garden Rooms began with our first garden room built in 2011 to house Trev’s beloved drum kit built around a set of sliding doors from a kitchen extension project he was working on. After spending all his working life using wood it was a natural progression for Trev to fill some dead space in our garden with a beautiful building clad in stunning cedar.
Crusoe Garden Rooms was born!
Crusoe Garden Rooms is a family business based in Nottingham run by husband and wife team, Trevor and Emma, with son Fred heading up the construction team. With well over 40 years experience working on various building projects as diverse as a chapel and windmill restoration to bespoke furniture and contemporary building projects, Trevor and his team have completed more than three hundred and fifty garden room builds throughout the UK from Brighton to Aberdeen.
Where Crusoe Garden Rooms began… 
Our garden room was created as a music studio but soon became a music studio, office and log store!

Attention To Detail
Trev is not only a craftsman when it comes to wood and building, he also has a brilliant eye for proportion, placement and design as you can see from our gallery. So if you feel you need guidance in these areas then he is your man. Each build, ranging from our standard builds to bespoke builds, is carefully designed and planned enabling the customer to have input into the design and specification of their individual project.
All of our buildings are bespoke and built to a high standard and use the best materials for the job including Western Red cedar not only for its beautiful colouring and patina but also for its built-in preservative qualities and minimum shrinkage and movement once fixed into position. Like our rubber membrane roof covering, our cedar has a very long lifespan, exceeding fifty years.
Our builds to date have included home offices, music and TV recording studios, treatment rooms, home cinemas, games rooms, ceramic and art studios, business premises, children’s playrooms, home gyms, teenage pads, summer houses, pool rooms, swim spa spaces, yoga and meditation spaces. We are members of the Guild of Master Craftsmen giving you reassurance of the quality of our work. We also have public liability insurance in place.
We never outsource the building of our garden rooms and each room is hand crafted on site by our expert team, not prefabricated. We pride ourselves on our promptness, tidiness and intelligence. Care will always be taken to respect you, your property and that of your neighbours. We are able to offer advice and accommodate changes throughout the build.
As a long established family run company we are able to keep our overheads low making us a highly competitive company in this area of work and therefore able to offer excellent quality and value for money. Your first point of contact whether by phone or email will be either Trevor or Emma and from the first site visit to the completion of your project, Trevor will be involved in your build, making sure that your project runs smoothly and on schedule.
